Snow!

We couldn't resist playing in the snow on this beautiful day!  Everyone was happy to roll and jump and eat fresh snow!

Sweet Potato Smoothies

Yay!  Today we made healthy yummy smoothies! Ms. Laura came and taught us about sweet potatoes and then we made smoothies! 

Meet a Tree

Friday's ECO lesson was 'Meet a Tree'!  Students had to trust a partner to guide them through the forest to a tree while blindfolded! They then used their senses to get to know the tree.  After removing the blindfold they had to try to find the tree they met.  Our awareness was raised on how every tree in the forest is different.  We also discussed the many uses of bark.  It was a fun outdoor day!

Trees Marvelous Trees!

Friday's ECO lesson centered around trees and all the wonderful things they do for us!  We ended our time in the forest by thanking the trees for what they do.  University students joined us in the woods today which provided the opportunity for small group activities.  Kids were tallying deciduous and conifer trees, making shelters, and even using dead branches sawing and drilling to make ornaments and necklaces.
